A Milestone for Nepali Innovation
While this marks the 7th edition of the Harvard Health Systems Innovation Lab (HSIL) global challenge, its arrival in Nepal signals a growing recognition of the country’s tech talent. Out of an initial pool of 45 competing teams from across the nation, 19 elite teams took to the stage today to pitch high-tech solutions designed to make healthcare more accessible, efficient, and data-driven.

The Road to Boston
The stakes for the participants couldn’t be higher. The National Finale is just the beginning of a rigorous journey toward international recognition:
The Selection: Only 3 outstanding teams will be handpicked from the Nepal hub.
The Global Bootcamp: These winners will advance to an intensive online global bootcamp, competing with peers from over 30 countries.

The Grand Finale: Top-tier performers from the bootcamp will earn an all-expenses-paid opportunity to travel to Boston, USA.
The Pitch: In Boston, finalists will present their AI-driven prototypes to a panel of world-class international investors and venture capitalists, seeking the funding and mentorship needed to scale their ideas globally.
Inspiring the Next Generation
Day 1 was defined by high-energy presentations, ranging from AI diagnostics for rural clinics to blockchain-secured health records. Mentors and judges noted the high caliber of technical skill and the deep understanding of local health challenges displayed by the youth.
“The journey ahead is even more exciting,” remarked the organizing committee. “Congratulations to all 19 teams for an inspiring start. You aren’t just coding; you are re-imagining the future of life-saving care in Nepal and beyond.”

As the sun sets on a successful first day, the atmosphere at Kathmandu University remains electric. All eyes are now on Day 2, where the final three teams will be announced, carrying the hopes of Nepal’s tech community to the global stage in Boston.
Stay tuned for the announcement of the National Winners tomorrow!
